HealthLinkBC Files are easy-to-understand fact sheets on a range of public health and safety topics. Most files are available in Chinese, English, Farsi, French, Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
8-1-1 is a free-of-charge provincial health information and advice phone line available 24 hours, 7 days a week in British Columbia. The 8-1-1 phone line is operated by HealthLink BC, which is part of the Ministry of Health. You can speak to a health services navigator, who can help you find health information and services; or connect you directly with a registered nurse, a registered dietitian or a pharmacist. Any one of these healthcare professionals will help you get the information you need to manage your health concerns, or those of your family.

Pacific Postpartum Support Society

Support available Mon-Fri 10am-3pm (evening calls can be set up). They provide phone support for moms and partners, weekly women's support groups, partner education sessions, community trainings and resource materials. A Self-Help Guide For Mothers is available to order on the website. Support is available during pregnancy and for anyone with a child under the age of 3 years old. Clients must call PPPSS to register for any of their groups. (Some support in other languages available).

The program provides eligible low-income, working families with cash assistance to help with their monthly rent payments. To qualify, families must have a gross household income of $35,000 or less, have at least one dependant child, and have been employed at some point over the last year.
Bowen Island Municipality’s affordable housing program is designed to produce non-market housing units for purchase at below-market prices for qualified prospects. As part of this program, the municipality maintains an affordable housing waitlist.
