The After School Club is open from September to June and follows the Bowen Island Community School (BICS) calendar. We are currently licensed for up to 20 children per day and we are located in the Community Use Room at BICS.  We have a highly trained staff team who love this age in human development and are skilled at creating a fun filled environment for each and every child.  We offer a variety of art and sports activities on a daily basis as well as a generous snack and lots of personal attention for children who have spent long school days learning. The emphasis at the After School Club is on fun!

Registration for September 2018

To enrol in the After School Club, please complete the Enrolment Package.

Children who turn five years old by December 31, 2018, are eligible for enrolment in the After School Club beginning in September 2018.

Registrations are received on a first come, first serve basis, with the date and time of receipt recorded on each registration form. Please note that BCC reserves the right to give priority to current BCC member children into the program during the Early Registration period. However, member and returning families who register after Early Registration has closed will register on the same footing as new families.

Registration forms must be given directly to The ASC Coordinator.  Adults may register one other child in addition to their own. Once a day’s spaces are filled, names will be taken on a waitlist. This waitlist is only for spaces that may become available during the coming year.

While the main registration period is in the spring, applications are accepted over the course of the year and children may be taken into the program as space becomes available.

 

Registration Deposit

Registration must be accompanied by a deposit of one half of the anticipated cost of your September fees. For example, if you’re registering for three days per week, your deposit will be equal to six days’ fees. This deposit is non-refundable, but will be applied against your last month’s fees once you give notice.

Payment may be made by cheque or money order; cash will not be accepted.

After School Club Fees

Fees for the After School Club’s licensed out-of-school care for children in Kindergarten through Grade 4 are outlined below.

Whether you book your child for regular or drop-in care, an annual registration fee of $35 for the first child and $10/child for subsequent children is due.

NOTE THAT THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT'S CHILD CARE FEE REDUCTION INITIATIVE IS NOT REFLECTED IN THE FEES PUBLISHED BELOW.   INVOICED AMOUNTS WILL INCLUDE A REBATE FROM THE PUBLISHED FEES.

Regular

  • One month's notice required for withdrawal or schedule change

Drop in

$18.00/day

  • Space subject to availability
  • Book up to 1 week in advance
  • 24 hour notice of cancellation required

Payment

The After School Club accepts payment by:

  • e-transfer to accounting@bowenchildrenscentre.ca; or
  • cheque or money order payable to the BCC After School Club and:
  • delivered in person; or
  • dropped in the ASC’s secure box; or
  • mailed to Bowen Children’s Centre, 650 Carter Rd, Bowen Island, V0N 1G2.

Please make cheques payable to BCC After School Club and be sure to add your child/ren’s name in the memo line on all forms of payment.

The After School Club issues tax receipts each February.
